In the 1990s, Ray Johnson photographed parking lots with disposable cameras. Triangulating Ray with: (1) Fargo (if you live by the parking lot, you will die by the parking lot); and Joni Mitchell, YELLOW TAXI; the parking lot becomes an image conveying his themes and values. He photographed an AUTO-portrait of himself in a parked AUTO-mobile, working out themes of the AUTO-MOTIVE. I am glad that visual thinking is being brought to bear on parking lots. Bill Wilson
